Terms of use for the Contentin API

These are the ground rules for the site, the free explorer and the API. They are general terms, written to be read in a few minutes.

The one-paragraph version

Keep your key private, use the data lawfully, treat results as a monthly-refreshed estimate, and expect the service to evolve. Everything below expands on that.

Using the service

By visiting the site or calling the API you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using it. Simple. Nothing here is hidden in a long document, so please read the whole page before you sign in.

You may call the free actions without a key. Paid actions need a key, and keys are tied to the Google account that created them.

Keys and prepaid credit

A credit is worth $0.0001. New accounts receive $100 of credit at sign-up, which is 1,000,000 credits, with no card needed. Further credit is bought in USDT (TRC-20) from the account page.

Each paid call deducts its credit price once, whatever the number of rows returned. When credit runs out the API answers HTTP 402. A missing or bad key answers HTTP 401. Plan for it.

You are responsible for calls made with your key. Keep it out of public code. Rotate it if it leaks, and check your balance after any suspicious spike, because spend on a leaked key is spend you cannot easily undo.

What the data is

Results come from our own crawler and our own index, refreshed roughly once a month. They can be incomplete or out of date, and a recent link may be absent.

The Domain Rating is our own 0 to 100 metric with a public formula. It is not Ahrefs DR or Moz DA. Nothing here is a promise. Do not read the data as a forecast of rankings or traffic, because it is neither.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to bypass billing, rate handling or authentication
  • Do not resell raw responses as a competing data service
  • Do not use the API to harass people or to attack a site
  • Do not share one key across unrelated businesses
  • Respect the law that applies to you when you act on the data

Changes, availability and contact

We may change prices, actions or these terms as the service develops. Things move. The date at the top of the page shows the latest update. Continued use means you accept the change.

Use it at your own pace. The service is provided as it is, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. For questions about your account or a top-up, sign in and use the account page. Related reading is in the privacy notes.

If something goes wrong

Check your logs. Authenticated responses carry a _credits field with the cost and the remaining balance, so you can reconcile your own logs against it. If the numbers disagree, tell us through the account page.
